This is my DSLR Body Armor.
I had made it specially for the coming event shooting for a paintball game at Gombak, Taman Harmonis.
The initial plan was just to get a rain cover for my DSLR. I find it too exp and lacking of protection from such high velocity projectile of a paintball pellet. And, added to the frustration, there’s no stock for the padded rain cover.
It took me about a few hours across 3 days to get the cutting and stitching done with my trusty scissor, needle and string.
Was lucky enough to get my hands on the neoprene material.
I kept testing with my Canon EFS 10-22mm and Canon EF 50mm lens to ensure that it fits both of it nicely.
I had it covered the sides of the DSLR body with the lens attached. Even so, I am still able to zoom in and out with the Canon EFS 10-22mm. Manual focusing will be an issue, as its much harder to turn it.
As for the flash, its protected by a camouflage printed cloth. The flash is rugged enough to handle hits and bumps. The cloth is to prevent the paint from sipping thru tiny lines in the middle.
Shall do some field test on it this Saturday. I hope it event will be successful, and I shall get back with some results from the field test later. Above all, may no one get injured on that day.
Counting down the that day : 2 days
Further countdown shall be done on my facebook account.
Do leave me some comments. And thanks for viewing!
